What we do

Our core service is the restoration of your old sash windows. We’ll retain as much of the original frames and glazing as possible.

Personalized Approach

Proven sytematic approach

  1. Beads removed to allow the removal of the sash lights (sliding parts of your windows)

  2. Sanding down and repair to all timber. In extreme cases we may need to replace sections of wood. This is usually evident at our free inspection so any additional costs won't be a surprise. All timber work is carried out by qualified carpenters.

  3. Replacement of broken glazing and repair of putty and beading where required.

  4. Weight checking of all windows, including new cords and new weights where required.

  5. Addition of draught proofing strip where beads and window frames meet.

  6. White primer to all timber

  7. Re-assembly of sash lights including new fasteners and security ironmongery where required.

We work swiftly, each window takes approximately half a day to remove, restore and refit. We leave every day only when your property is secure, clean and back to the way we found it.

Glazier During Work

Double Glazing

Double glazed units can be fitted to most sash lights at additional cost. Ask us about this option when we quote. You will see even better insulation and noise reduction however most of our clients decide that fully restored single-glazed sash windows offer the improvements they are looking for.

Secondary Glazing

New advances in secondary glazing mean that for some properties the increased thermal insulation and noise reduction offer a cost-effective addition to your restored windows.

Each job is individual and you may need to consider relevant planning laws as well as the cost.
